Keeping free time scarce means people pay a lot more for convenience, gratification, and any other relief they can buy. It keeps them watching television, and its commercials. It keeps them unambitious outside of work.”

Jessica Hische at the New Adventures Conference via New Adventures Indeed:
“I spend most of my days making tiny adjustments to Bezier curves.”

Frank Chimero – The Anthologists.
“I suspect this is why I always feel dissatisfied when going through someone’s Pinterest account or Tumblr blog. It usually feels like going through their laundry.”
I love these ideas. I love the idea of turning clumsy collections of digital objects into something tangible, meaningful. Also the intention of doing something like this provides a context for thinking about what you will eventual do with everything while you are collecting it.
If I only had the time.

Sigmar Polke – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
“In 1968, the year after he left the art academy, Polke published these images as a portfolio of 14 photographs of small sculptures he had made from odds and ends—buttons, balloons, a glove. From 1968 to 1971, he completed several films and took thousands of photographs, most of which he could not afford to print.”
Sometimes I remember I am not so crazy.

“How do you explain it?” Harbaugh said. “Coming from a faith perspective, God and heaven work in beautiful wonders, mysterious, wonderful ways. I am not talking about winning and losing. I am talking about what you see people accomplish in the face of adversity. That’s really what it’s all about. What would be a better story than the one you just saw?”
Beautiful words from Ravens coach, John Harbaugh.
